UNV Karamveer Chakra: National Medallion for proactive Volunteer Action

Gaurav Gaur, Hari Pado Biswas, Hemant Kumar Yadav, Rahul Pawa and Santosh Kumar were conferred  the UNV Karamveer Chakra in an award function held on 27 November in New Delhi. This award is an endeavour to promote volunteerism and acknowledge exemplary voluntary actions by recognizing the invaluable role played by volunteers towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.


Instituted in 2008-09 by Indian Confederation of NGOs (iCONGO) in association with the UN, Karmaveer Chakra is the national medallion for proactive voluntary action to Be the Change. This year the award was given in association with UNV to commemorate the tenth Anniversary of International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10).
