A one day seminar on Youth Volunteerism was held on 09 August 2011, at the UN Conference Hall, New Delhi. The Seminar was jointly organized by the Commonwealth Youth Programme(CYP), Asia Center, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and United Nations Volunteers(UNV).

The  aim of the seminar was to mark the conclusion of International Year of Youth, and observance of the International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10), first observed in 2001 as per a mandate given by the UN General Assembly with the objective to enhance the recognition, facilitation, networking and promotion of volunteer service.
