        How is UNDP Supporting the crisis:

 

Responding to a Health Emergency

UNDP is partnering with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and State Health Departments to:

  • Procure and set up oxygen generating plants, oxygen concentrators and other critical medical supplies like ventilators & PPE kits
  • Strengthen and digitize systems to effectively manage and deliver vaccines
  • Support communication and advocacy campaigns to scale up reach and ensure access to vaccines at the last mile
  • Provide psychosocial support to vulnerable and marginalized communities

Protecting Livelihoods

UNDP is working with vulnerable communities impacted by the pandemic to:

  • Increase access to information on entitlements and expand reach of social protection schemes
  • Facilitate skilling and job opportunities for women and youth
  • Restore rural livelihoods opportunities for women microentrepreneurs, farmers' and artisans' collectives
  • Provide digital and financial literacy trainings to women and youth
  • Set up innovative digital platforms to enhance reach of social protection and connect micro-entrepreneurs to markets
