Direct Rolling: Driving Indian Steel Re-Rolling Sector Forward
The video provides an overview of the direct rolling technology which has resulted in significant cost savings and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The technology, introduced as part of UNDP’s project on improving energy efficiency in the steel re-rolling sector, eliminates the need to re-heat billets in composite mills.
Projects and Initiatives
The project, in partnership with the Government of India and supported by AusAid, aims to upscale energy efficient interventions in the steel re-rolling mills sector and other sub-sectors of the small scale steel industry in India. This will enable mitigation of GHG emissions and lead to improvement in productivity.
