A Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, Government of Uttarakhand, and UNDP workshop on Strengthening Resilience to Climate Change Related Disaster Risks in Dehradun on 21 July 2017 was covered by All India Radio.

Amit Singh Negi, Secretary, Disaster Management, Government of Uttarakhand, speaks of the escalation in magnitude of hazards likes landslides, flash floods, etc. due to climate change. He also discusses long-term strategies to deal with loss of life from disasters and ensure livelihood security under changing climatic conditions.

Jaco Cilliers, Country Director, UNDP India, describes how UNDP has been involved in various projects and initiatives in Uttarakhand since 2009, with a particular focus on  on community preparedness. He also stresses the values and benefits of emergency preparedness.
