    Three public service initiatives from Kerala, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh were felicitated for receiving the United Nations Public Service Awards 2013. These public institutions were recognized for innovative solutions that have helped improve service delivery, ensured greater transparency and empowered women through rural markets.

    In a message to the participants of the E-Gov Campus 2013, Lise Grande, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative reiterates the importance of technology in reducing poverty and achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The Resident Coordinator also stresses the need to do more to use technology and e-governance for sustainable development and to ensure that nations are able to collaborate better for a shared future.

  • UNDP Administrator Helen Clark India visit 2010

    As part of her five-day visit to India in 2010, UNDP Administrator Helen Clark visited Bhilwara district in Rajasthan to witness several innovations undertaken under the government’s flagship rural employment guarantee Act – the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act that are designed to promote greater transparency and accountability in practices. In Bhilwara, Ms Clark also interacted with women panchayat leaders to discuss greater women’s participation in decision making at local level.
