Their progress was watched by a delegation of 21 representatives from eight countries including South Sudan, Nigeria, Guinea Bissau, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Senegal and the Gambia. This sharing of knowledge was made possible through a partnership between the Election Commission of India and the United Nations Development Programme which aims to to promote exchange of experience and expertise in the field of electoral management and administration with other countries.

Constituted more than four decades after the last High Level Committee on the Status of Women, the Committee set up by the Government of India, examines the status of women in contemporary India and assesses the impact of policy and legislation on women’s equality. The ‘Women and Media’ consultation was part of a series of consultations held since 2013 supported by UNDP.

Representatives from State Governments, NGOs, Academia and the Private Sector debated recent legislative initiatives for Service Guarantees and their implementation.

Recognising the growing importance of young legal professionals in facilitating access to justice by marginalised communities, the study examines innovative approaches and provides recommendations on managing law school-based legal services clinics.
