Inceptum 2011

To raise awareness on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of  International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10), Joining Hands, WWF and UNV organized an Inter-School Debate – ‘Inceptum 2011’ on 18 October 2011, New Delhi. Topic of the Debate was “Individual Social Responsibility; A Distant dream in achieving the Millennium Development Goals in India”. About thirty schools were invited to participate. The debate was judged by Ms Usha Albuquerque — Founder director of Career Smart, and former news anchor and film producer— along with  Ms Vartika Poddar from WWF and Ms Amita Dahiya from UNV. A discussion was also held on the potential role volunteers could play towards achieving the MDGs. Modern School, Barakhamba and Blue Bells tied for the first place, St. Columba’s School was adjudged second, and the award for the best interjector went to Tagore International School. Read more...
