The Report was launched by Rajeev Gupta, Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport, UNV Deputy Executive Coordinator Rosemary Kalapurakal, UN Resident Coordinator a.i. Louis George Arsenault, and Rajesh Tandon from Participatory Research in Asia. Lead author Amanda Mukwashi herself presented SWVR's key findings. The Launch was followed by a lively discussion on the role volunteerism in facilitating sustainable development and good governance.   • UN Volunteers Train NSS Youth in ChennaiFrom June 22nd to June 28th 2009, two members of the UNV team in India, assisted as resource persons at the NSS Mega Summer Camp 2009 in the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Development (RGNIYD) in Chennai. The summer camp was attended by over 400 NSS volunteers, representing states from across India. The training on volunteerism was held on six consecutive days and addressed all 400 youths in the course of the camp. It was carried out in conjunction with RGNIYD staff, covered topics such as ‘what is volunteering’, results indicators, the Millennium Development Goals and the importance of teamwork.
