Spatial and Social Inequalities in Human Development: India in the Global Context

The paper provides global overview, analysis of the pattern of the loss in human development in different countries, when computing the inequality adjusted indices, as proposed by UNDP (2010). It also examines the trend of inequalities in socio-economic indicators, primarily in terms of per capita State Domestic Product, consumption expenditure and indicators pertaining to education, health and access to civic amenities.
